馬凹溪位於苗栗縣泰安鄉,為汶水溪之支流，在日出溫泉飯店處匯入汶水溪馬凹溪是後龍溪水系、汶水溪上游的源流之一，它源自海拔一三一八公尺的橫龍山、以及一四九三公尺的虎子山之間，「馬凹」同「馬告」，因為音譯關係才有如此不同的漢語，在泰雅族語中意指野生的山胡椒樹，表示溪畔有很多山胡椒。馬凹溪溯行的路程不長，但溪谷景致卻相當壯麗，峽谷地形相當豐富多元，溪中魚蟹成群。途中有一中型瀑，可玩爬瀑；終點的馬凹瀑布，可以玩垂降；瀑下深潭，可跳水及游泳。
It was a raining day in early morning, we all got wet just while we equiped ourselves. It was a pity that we did not climb the waterfall due to muddy water.
I got sore limbs the other day morning, but feel good to join in such exciting activity.
