FORT COLLINS, Colo. - Sen. Barack Obama told tens of thousands of supporters here that he wants them to vote early, unless they are supporting his Republican opponent, Sen. John McCain.
"I especially want you to vote early if you're voting for me," he told an outdoor crowd estimated at more than 40,000 people at Colorado State University.
"If you are voting for the other guy, you should just wait until Nov. 5," he added, chuckling. "I'm just teasing. It's actually Nov. 4, is the election."
Obama also said he plans to keep his focus on the sagging economy.
"A couple weeks ago my opponent's campaign said, if we keep talking about the economy, we're going to lose," he said. "So, that's why I'm talking about the economy a lot."
Running ahead of schedule, Obama started his appearance here early and because of security and crowd control measures, people were still streaming into a tree-line area as he was finishing his speech.
